Discipline/Sanction Protocol for Underage Members

Participation in sport should be an enjoyable experience for all involved.

In the event that a participant’s behaviour is disruptive to club activities, the club have adopted the following protocol:

Step 1. – 1^st Verbal warning to the child and communicated to the parent/guardian.

Step 2. – If the behaviour continues to be unacceptable, a 2^nd Verbal warning to the child and communicated to the parent/guardian.

Step 3. – If the behaviour continues to be unacceptable, the parent/guardian will be advised that the child will be excluded from club activities for a two week period.

Step 4. – If the behaviour continues to be unacceptable following return to club activities, the parent/guardian will be advised that the child will be excluded from club activities for the remainder of the season.

If a parent/guardian  wishes to discuss disciplinary issues with a coach, they should do so immediately following the training/match involved or at the next age relevant club activity. Failing this, a parent/guardian may relay their concerns by email to info@88ers.ie.

It is not considered acceptable for coaches to be contacted regarding disciplinary/sanction issues outside of these times.

We would like to remind all concerned that our coaches give of their time voluntarily.
